National Society of Hispanic MBAs: Alonzo served on the local board, chaired the Central Region Board and served as a Director on the national board of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.

As Chair of the Central Region he conceptualized and developed a region-wide, three-day intensive leadership and strategy workshop that received organization-wide recognition for making possible this $200,000 collaborative effort. Corporate sponsorships included, in part: HEB Grocery Co., Dell Computers, Kellogg Corp., Target Corp., Pitney Bowes, Jones Graduate School of Management, Rice University, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, A.T. Kearney and Arthur Andersen.

The United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County: Alonzo for several years served as a member of one of the Stewardship Review Committees that are charged with assessing nonprofit organizational capacity of organizations receiving United Way funding.

The Nonprofit Resource Center of Texas: Alonzo served as the moderator for a monthly forum for nonprofit board chairs.

Executive Service Corp of San Antonio: Alonzo served as a board member and consultant with the Executive Service Corp of San Antonio where he chaired the strategic planning committee.

Association of American University Women: Alonzo served as an alternate panelist on the Selected Professions Fellowship Panel charged with granting scholarships to women of color.

JOVEN, Inc: Alonzo served on the Internal Committee where he advised with branding and strategy.
