An Overview

Repeating the success of last year’s TS Board Project, I am introducing the TS Board Project – Part II. There is tremendous value in these engagements for the nonprofits who want to develop their strategic fundraising plan . Or who wish to get serious about their board recruitment efforts. And, there is also an engagement for the nonprofits that want to embark on their strategic planning process.

These are three different six-month engagements which are intended to take the nonprofit and its board through a well-developed process of developing their:

1. Strategic Fundraising Plan
2. Strategic Board Member Recruitment Plan or
3. Strategic Plan for the next three to five years

Therefore, some of the specifics of this TS Board Project – Part II include:

1. I am looking for two nonprofits for an engagement in each of the three following areas (the total will be capped at six nonprofits):
      a. Developing a strategic fundraising plan
      b. Developing a strategic board recruitment plan
      c. Developing a three to five year strategic plan
2. Each engagement would be six months in length
3. Each would include two retreats of 5 to 6 hour duration
4. The fee for this consulting and coaching service would be $500 per month
5. By my calculations, the monetary consulting value to each nonprofit would be approximately $15,000

Last year’s TS Board Project consisted of twelve-month engagements and based on the nature of the deliverables and the work to be done with the board (moving from talk & ideas to action & results) the twelve-month engagement was justified. However, these engagements are of a shorter nature because I feel that the work can be completed in that short of time.

For an explanation for the rationale for this highly discounted fee, please see below.

In the second half of 2010 I will be embarking on the TS Board Project – Part III that will include a six-month engagement on creating a Social Enterprise.
